I attempted to replace the D-ring in the thermostat housing today. I successfully managed to loosen 3 of the 4 nuts securing the EGR pipes, that are blocking the bolts for the thermostat housing. But then I got a really deep cut on my knuckle, and it looked like it might rain, so I put every thing back together for today. At least I freed the nuts, that was a huge task in itself. Although I’m not sure that even removing the EGR pipes is enough. And there is still that one impossible to reach nut. Although I know if I just had a 1-1/4″ crowfoot wrench I could remove it, no problem, but I can only find one manufacturer that makes the tool, and it’s $30. And that’s a lot for a tool that I only have one specific use for. Well, I hope my knuckle doesn’t get infected. I should buy some mechanics work gloves. I did accomplish something today though. I vacuumed out my car, and tidied up the mess on the passenger’s side. I also cleaned the dash, and did a little touch up work on some things.
